September 11th is celebrated in Catalonia to commmemorate the heroic defense of people from Barcelona against the army of Borbon Felipe V on 11th Septembre in 1714. The acts begin in Barcelona, on the10th at the Fossar de les Moreres, where the died men who defended the city, were buried. On the 11th, around the monument to Rafael de Casanova also there are floral offerings and speeches.

Catalans use this day to demand the Independence of his coutry from Spain and France.
